Nissan looks to the future with Resonance
DETROIT -- Nissan pretty much threw every advanced technology it conjures up into its five-passenger crossover concept, Resonance.
It made its debut here Tuesday at the North American International Auto Show.
It has a hybrid powerplant, complete with a 2.5-liter gas engine. It's coupled to a continuously variable transmission, for which Nissan has become known, and a lithium-ion battery.
For looks, not necessary fuel economy, it has 22-inch wheels. It's meant to look futuristic, which means touches such as boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights, an aerodynamic exterior and huge glass roof. Like so many concept cars this year, it's painted a hot shade of orange.
